Description: Influenced by the artwork of the famous William Longhauser, I created a geometric and distinctive album for the electronic music duo, Odesza. I used design concepts such as gestalt and typographic hierarchy with the use of grids, negative space, and repetition to create an atmospheric album. I focused on trying to create an album similar to Longhauser’s artwork but, still consider all of the design concepts to make it similar to Odesza’s music sound. I found it difficult trying to align the back cover to have enough negative space and make it not look too busy. However, with trial and error, the album design shows the similarities in both William Longhauser and Odesza.
